THE TREE GROWS UP IN THAT WAY

A story of one neglected tree

Every night, a man plants a tree to his boy. He does it with bare hands. The tree grows up during the night, then it bears the fruits in the next morning. The boy goes to school laden with the fruits. Some of his classmates may have the fruits in their bodies like him, but nobody pretends to see it. It should be a secret. Sometimes the boy feels an urge to transplant the trees. To the dog in the yard, to the friends in the school, to his own kid after marriage. He becomes his dad.

The writer deals with the neglected kids in the middle of the abuse and the violence handing down. Jungsoon as an illustrator for this book told, “The texts depict the violence for the nonviolence. I concentrated on the Illustrations delivering this intention.”
